Canadian Landscapes Exhibition by Danielle Harshenin

Danielle Harshenin is a self-taught visual artist living in Lake Country, British Columbia. She is mostly known for her vibrant Barcode Landscape paintings inspired by iconic Canadian landscapes and retro pop culture. She has been practicing with acrylics for over 18 years. As a toddler, Danielle wona coloring contest that made the local news, and she attributes her love of coloring within the lines to this event.

After completing her business degree in 2020, Danielle began painting more intentionally and sought to develop a painting style that would be uniquely hers. This was how she got the idea for "Barcode Landscape" paintings - stylized landscapes featuring colourful barcode skies, geometric shapes and gradient fading effects. These idyllic landscapes have been the focus of her practic every since.

Danielle was born and raised in the Okanagan Valley, where she continues to reside with her husband and two teenage children. She paints out of her home studio under the supervision of two studio cats. Danielle believes in the power of positive thinking and seeks to spread good vibes with her art.
