The Summerland Community Arts Council is pleased to announce our 2023 Street Banner Program!
The world is composed of 4 basic elements - earth, water, air and fire. These are considered the critical energy forces that sustain life. All of these elements are integral parts of our physical universe.
The 2023 theme, the Four Elements: Earth, Water, Air and Fire calls upon artists to share their interpretations of those elements and how they represent our beautiful community..
This is a juried program, with the Summerland Art Club volunteering their time and expertise, to select the five most suitable designs submitted based on criteria provided to them. The designs will be enlarged and professionally printed on banners.
Artists whose designs are chosen will receive a small honorarium in exchange for the exclusive rights of the Summerland Community Arts Council to print the design for any purpose the Council desires. Artists will retain the rights to their original image. Commission will be paid on any items sold with an artist's image on it.
Designs must be submitted by April 24th to admin@summerlandarts.com. Please include your name and phone number along with your submission. Winning designs will be announced on May 12th, 2023.
Artists are invited to submit an original, full colour design suitable for a 24" x 60" banner. The submission must be an electronic file. A jpeg of the image is required and must be accompanied by the image in one of the following formats: ai(Adobe Illustrator), .eps (Encapsulated PostScript) or pdf (Adobe Editable Portable Document Format). Images in Word docs or PowerPoint files will not be accepted.
