SUMMARY:A Colourful Fall Workshop
DESCRIPTION:A Colorful Fall Workshop\n\nWith colourfull fall leaves at hand\, we’ll create a seasonal motif to reveal the magic of watercolour transparency with overlapping layered elements. This class will appeal to beginners with some basic watercolour knowledge and more advanced painters who’d like to expand their repertoire. Masking fluid and watercolour pencils will be supplied for experimentation.\n\nHere is a list of suggested supplies: \n\nA selection of fall leaves\n2 sheets of good quality watercolour paper 8″ x 10″ pr 9″ x 12″\, as sindividual shets or in a watercolour block.\n3 brushes – #8 or #10 round\, 1/2″ flat and mop brush or similar. Optional…one OLD brush for masking. Dianne will have lots of extra brushes.\n1 sheet 11″ x 14″ plexiglass\, veneer\, canvas board panel or other flat surface for securing watercolour paper.\n6 basic primary colours as block or tube. Note: there is a wide variety of colours available. If you can’t find these\, bring what you have: Lemon yellow (cool yellow)\, New Gamboge (warm yellow)\, Pyrrol Scarlet (warm red)\, Quinacridone Rose (cool red)\, French Ultramarine (warm blue)\, Phthalo Blue (cool blue)\nPalette suitable for mixing colours (enclosed palettes are perfect but a plastic plate will work).\nWater container (tall yogurt containers or other larger plastic container).\nOld toothbrush (optional but might be fun).\nSoft rag and/or paper towel\n5/8″ or 3/4″ masking tape (house painting tape).\nSense of creative adventure!\nSnacks or sandwich recommended.\n\nWorkshop fee is $75. DESCRIPTION:The Summerland Community Arts is once again presenting our live music concert series – Music in the Park every Wednesday this July and August. \nBecause of the Wharton St. construction\, we’ll be holding our concerts in the greenspace between the Arts Centre and the Museum. so for this year\, we’ll call it Music on the Green! \nThis year’s concerts will feature a wide variety of performers and genres – something for everyone! \nMusic starts at 6:30 pm. Bring your lawn chairs\, drinks and a picnic and enjoy live music in this new venue!

SUMMARY:Multi-Media Art Camp - Afternoon Session
DESCRIPTION:This art camp\, features three talented artists instructing three distinctly different mediums and promises to be both fun and educational! \nAugust 18 – Glass art with Shauna McKenney. Students will create stained glass mosaic hearts\, stepping stones and other mosaic glass projects. \nAugust 19\, 20\, 22 – Basket Weaving/Miniature Gardens/Wooden Puppets with Annabel Stanley. On August 19th\, students will have fun weaving basket miniatures with foraged fibres such as dandelions\, cornhusks\, Iris leaves\, banana peels and moss. August 20th will see students learning how to create a woven fish starting with wire armatures. On August 22\, students will create miniature gardens. \nAugust 21 – Floral Arts with Nic Robins. Students will create art pieces using mixed media and dried and pressed flowers. \nAges 10 – 14 \nWhen: August 18 – 22 \nInstructors: Nic Robins\, Annabel Stanley & Shauna McKenny \nTime: 1:00 – 3:30 pm
