An Open House at the historic Superintendent’s House

Guided Tours of the House with Juliet Schoonderwoert
Juliet started volunteering as a docent at the Superintendent’s House in 2002 spending weekday afternoons giving tours. After the House was closed to the public she continued volunteering at the Hummingbird Information Centre and helping out our gardeners maintaining and planting the Gardens during our Weedy Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Refreshments at the House by the Friends; Donations appreciated

Five Tours of the Gardens: from 10am – 3pm
 
10 – 11am  – Xeriscape in the Gardens  with Kathryn McCourt
Kathryn is a long-time gardener and educator who spends as much time as possible outdoors and in the back country. She consults on plans and practices in low-water gardening.

11 – 12pm – The Welcome Garden plus the Rain Garden with Donna Lane  
Donna is a retired landscape architect and a long time member of the Gardens. She is also a part of the Garden’s Physical committee and was instrumental in creating our new Welcome and Crescent Borders as well as the Rain Garden.

12 – 1pm – Grasses in the Gardens with Eva Antonijevic
Eva is the Friends’ community outreach staff. Grasses have been her long-standing passion.

1 – 2pm – Trees in the Gardens  with Peggy Zachary
Peggy has lived most of her life in the Okanagan, and is a volunteer with Okanagan Master Gardeners. She conducted a tour of drought tolerant trees and shrubs as part of the Meadowlark festival in May, and is looking forward to the fall colors in our beautiful Garden.

2 – 3pm  – Highlights of the Gardens  with Bev Krieger
Bev is a Master Gardener and long time wanderer in the Gardens.  Over the past two years she has enjoyed working at the Gardens’ Information Booth, researching various aspects of the gardens, and taking visitors on Garden walks.

October 4th is going to be a very exciting day – we hope to see many of you coming up to the Gardens and joining in the PARC’s Centennial Celebration
