Join Cameron Baughen for a Composting and hands-on lawn top-dressing workshop as a part of Summerland’s Earth Week Festivities.

Take home FREE COMPOST donated by the District of Summerland

Cameron Baughen is the Solid Waste Management Coordinator for the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen in Penticton. Cameron will be presenting the principles of composting to us and showing us some techniques to ensure we are able to achieve nutrient rich compost to utilize in our gardens – from garden waste to garden gold! Additionally there will be a demonstration on how to top-dress a lawn with compost to reduce the water usage up to 20%.  Everyone will have an opportunity to practice the technique and will go home with a bucket/bag of Summerland District’s screened compost.

Bring your questions, a bucket or a bag and a pair of work gloves.
